Background Info:
Josimov.  The villainous 'Cardinal' of the church.  He was the one who
orchestrated Kaulitaks' getting hired in the Sacred Knights. 
While manevuered and mislead by the 'Robed Man', Josimov was
anything but innocent. 
He sought to reincarnate the god Verdahk, through the death of
Kalutika Maybus.  So upon learning of Deshwitats' origin, and ties to
young Maybus and Butler, issued the executions of both Deshwitats'
love, as well as Kalutikas' Danube.  And also had a hunt for the three
heroes. 

However, Josimov had been lied to by the Robed Man, and after learning
of his deception, tried to have Kalutika sealed off, so that he could
not be reborn. 

Josimov also had Father Daniel killed as well, in hopes of concealing
and locking away the truth, which was within his Journal. 
Daniel kept his promise, and kept the Journal away from Josimov, and
for those who've read it, know the truth about the 'monster' that was
not born of vampire blood, but of human.
